- B.A. in Accounting and Finance, Olivet Nazarene University
Tell us a little bit about the experience of coming to BB and why you were drawn to the firm?
I was first exposed to Bronswick Benjamin through an eight-week internship program called AISP (Accounting Intern Scholarship Program) in which six different accounting firms participated. BB stood out. I have to say first and foremost, the people here have been great. I really like learning from them and getting to work with them. Throughout that program, everybody at BB seemed not only very intelligent but also very enthusiastic to share all of their knowledge.
Up to that point, how certain were you that you wanted to go into this field?
I can say I was eager to learn about accounting and get an inside look at a firm because, frankly, I wanted to see what I was getting myself into. I had probably the best experience last summer through the internship. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first but I was happy with the overall experience at BB. Now I can say I’m very much looking forward to starting a career in public accounting.
Outside of BB, what kind of things do you like to get involved in or do for fun that people wouldn’t know?
I’d say my number one passion is running, which I do almost every day. I was on the cross country and the track team in high school and in college for 5 years. I’ve done one marathon and plan on doing the Chicago Marathon next fall. It’s just something that really makes me happy. I’m also interested in a lot of sports, including hanging out with friends watching the NFL and college football.
