After more than 30 years of service Jack Knopoff announced his retirement in December 2015.
Jack began his career with the Chicago area accounting firm, Miller, Mandell & Co., which merged with the national firm, Laventhol, Krekstein, Horwath and Horwath. He left Laventhol to join Reicin Pollack in 1974 and became a Partner in 1978.
During his tenure with Bronswick Reicin Pollack, Ltd. Jack managed the firm’s IT, served as the firm’s employee benefit plan audit quality center designated partner, and the firm’s quality control partner. Jack’s career included more than 30 years of experience in all areas of accounting, auditing, taxation, financial and retirement planning, and computer advisory services, with special emphasis in the areas of not-for-profit and construction accounting. His extensive list of clientele included professional service organizations, construction contractors, not-for profit organizations, employee benefit plans and closely held family owned businesses.
Jack received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accountancy from the Roosevelt University in 1969. Jack is a licensed CPA, a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Jack has served and currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of many Civic Organizations. He was President of Congregation Beth Shalom of Northbrook, Illinois from 1985-1987, and served on the Board of Directors and /or Executive Board since 1978. He was a national Board Member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and served as a President of the Midwest Region United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Jack was a Board Member of the Community Foundation of Jewish Education. He also has served as Treasurer of the Susan F. Lasky Cancer Foundation.
Jack will continue as a consultant with Bronswick Reicin Pollack, Ltd. throughout the tax season. In May 2016, Jack will start enjoying his retirement and spending time with family and friends.
